For those of you heading on the Museum Night to the Jiří Mahen Library, you will have the last chance to see an exhibition of photographs by the Brno photographer  Jiří Salik Sláma – the exhibition is included in the BMN programme .

Unconventional photographic studio in the Mendel Museum

The Mendel Museum MU invites Museum Night visitors to stop off at an unconventional photographic studio opened as part of the Brno Museum Night on Saturday 18 May from 6pm till midnight  in the garden in front of the museum.   Work in the photo studio will take you to the world of Gregor Johann Mendel and his genetic discoveries. Don’t miss out on the chance to have charming portraits of yourself and your family made in the form of signed original colour polaroids. An excellent present for you, your family and friends.

For the complete programme of the Brno Museum Night you will pay 20 crowns

The difference compared to previous years of the Brno Museum Night consists in paying an admission fee of twenty crowns for the whole of this year’s programme . The symbolic fee (which does not apply to children up to 130 cm tall) will be paid in the first institution that you visit. There you will receive an identification band that you will use as proof of payment and then entry to all other buildings will be free of charge.

Tišnov joins the Brno Museum Night

On Saturday 18th May you can also set off to Tišnov – the local Galerie Jamborův dům hasorganized its own programme for the Museum Night. From 6pm till 11pmin the gallery garden you will be able to see a large screen projection compiled from photographs of the work of one the most important figures of Czech painting in the 20th century - Jánuš Kubíček (1921-1993), whose abstract paintings are currently on show in the gallery. You can be amused by some of his more light-hearted output – slightly erotic collages from the Calendar of Perennial Joy – in the foyer of the near-by Svratka cinema (showing collage reproductions).

Museum Night at the Museum of Romany Culture is dedicated to women and playing

It is now only a couple of weeks until the ever-popular event which makes nocturnal Brno come alive. The date of this year’s Brno Museum Night has already been fixed – on Saturday 18th May 2013 from 6pm to midnight, fifteen cultural institutions from Brno and beyond will open their doors to the public, including a new BMN 2013 Guest – the Brno Philharmonic. The rich cultural programme will be presented by traditional and favourite participating organizations.
